Our new President...

In a few days, we swear in a new President. It's not the guy I voted for.

As a conservative, it seems like I don't have a lot to be happy about politically these days. It seems the door is open for all of those scary, socialist, enviro-nutty ideas to become the law of the land. Taxes are going up. Freedom is going down. My values are no longer represented. How should I respond?

I am going to use my first "real" post on my new blog to say this:

May God bless our new President, Barack Obama. May He grant President Obama the wisdom to carry our his task.

I am a citizen of the United States, and as of Tuesday, Barack Obama will be my president. I celebrate with my fellow citizens for the peaceful transfer of power that we enjoy in the United States. I recognize and celebrate the historic nature of Barack Obama's election.

I support our new President. Regardless of how critical I may be of our new President's policy decisions, and despite the fact that I will likely support his opponent in re-election in 2012, I pledge to give our President the support and respect he deserves as our leader.
